i'm such a contradiction.

i am vegetarian.
i love animals.
i don't eat them for ethical and moral reasons.
and yet i love LEATHER.
it is the thing i loathe most about myself, because i feel like it makes me a huge
CONTRADICTION.
but i really can't help it. i love leather :(

and so i made this on polyvore.

thrifting success!

went to some local thrift stores today, these are my purchases:
- floral "silence + noise" bustier, $2 (i know...i actually felt bad paying only that much for it!)
- blue/white checkered apron...too cute! $1
- pair of nude long gloves...very elegant and really nice quality $0.75 ...deal!!!
- a couple of sewing patterns (pencil skirt, boy shorts) $0.25 each

total purchase: $4.25 :)

Today's Project: Retro Wednesday

Project#1:
reconstruct vintage/thrift store finds

Project#2:
sew some vintage inspired bathing suits! yayyyyy...

why i love vintage/retro style soooo much: I love the classic lines...I feel like they knew exactly how to complement a woman's figure. Simple, easy, and always elegant. When paired with modern pieces, and a little quirkiness...you can never go wrong!

my dream in life is to wake up and live in 1956:
this is a time when all good things in the world were brand new...people were still excited about life. this was a time of evolution. the era of colour tv, mcdonald's, grace kelly. the birth of rock and roll music, and the decade where elvis first gyrated. things seemed to be a little more simple back then, and it's this collision of simplicity and the complications of a changing world that makes it so special to me.

recipe for my aesthetic:

ingredients:
pretty
dark
dirty
vintage
classic
pin-up
chic
cheap
rotten
cold
things that sparkle
lot's of black
lot's of skin
a little rock
a little roll
and a whole lot of sweetness! sugar...not any of that fake shit.

instructions:
mix all ingredients together, and cake on some makeup. Add a touch of glitter.

i think this is really beautiful, i love her porcelain skin, the tone on tone, and her contrasting mess of hair.
it's nice, i like it.

underneath it all.

can not remember where i found this...
somewhere on someone's blog, or a random google find.
I promise to be more diligent in the future so I can credit people for their awesomeness.

not sure when or where my fascination/love for skulls began.
just know i adore them, and think they are quite
beautiful.
